Thought I would share a couple of cards from my Xmas Card Class. Customers came and paid $30 and went home with 10 cards, 5 different designs, making 2 of each design.

I think these 2 were the most popular, although they were all liked. Anyway here are a couple

This is done on Whisper White Cardstock and Night of Navy and I called it the trust card, because you had to stamp 3 times just moving the the stamp in order to get the shadowing and after the stamping 3 times you lifted the stamp to see how you did and I am telling you there wasn't one card that didn't look good when it was finished.

This is pretty straight forward, alot of layers but was really elegant. I love Soft Suede and Soft Suede ink was the only color used and the Christmas Designer Series paper Christmas Cocoa just put the finish to it.

This is just using the opposite side of the DSP so this was another choice they had. My pictures aren't the best quality however it was either this or not post and I haven't been doing so well in the blogging department lately, have been cutting to much paper to blog. My Latest Idea

In my Xmas card class we are doing a Side Step Card, I think it was thought of by Julie Davison and Jackie Topa, anyway I cased it and then I saw a card made by I think Gretchen Barron not sure about all this and the spelling of their names however I want to share a great Idea I had, and I haven't seen it anywhere, however maybe someone else has had it too. Look what I came up with.

This isn't original, however the next picture is my idea, and it will work with so many stamps. I first have to say I hate omitting or masking, and I really don't like having stamps on both side of the wood because I get ink on my hands and fingers and then it gets on my card and grrr anyway here it is

How I mounted it and the words go in and out and when they don't stay in place anymore if that should happen I will just put some dotto on the paper and make it stick this is the greatest idea I have ever had, I think!! one thing to note is that when you put the stamp on the wood, have it together so it keeps it shape. Card Ideas from my Downline Meeting

here is a beautiful sponged card from Kendra. She used the Ups a Daisy set pg 95 I love the black embossing.

Next is Audrey's card, she used the set Pumkin Patch from the Holiday Mini pg 9 and the stamp created designs, and we all ask her what designer paper she had used. Alot of cutting here as the punchs don't work, except maybe the round one.

Laurel Lee made this card, it is so cute and in real life I had to feel it because I thought it was flocked. She used the wheel Haunting pg 22 and then just color in the eyes. Wow what talented demo' I have. Will try and post again soon.
 
 
 

Make and Take Card from last nite

My group had a downline meeting last evening. It is always fun to get together with stampers. We had a card front swap which was great, I will share these next week. I will share the Make and Take we did. I chose the card we did at convention only cutting takes time, and I wanted this card done in less than 5 min's, so here is the original

 and then the Make and take we did.

You will notice, one of the cards has a watermark, and the other doesn't ,I swear I am retarted when it comes to this watermark thing. I was able to get it on one card and then couldn't repeat the process.

Anyway I am off for fun in Seattle with my grandchildren, they are planning a birthday party of me and I know how Sofia 5 plans parties so it should be fun. She has already told me they have made me lots of very pretty cards, and she knows ice cream cake is my favorite, and I am sure it is hers, so guess what the cake will be. Anyway I am excited to have time with them. So until next time, Enjoy your day or days.

Continuing with Swaps

These are ideas for Xmas cards. WOW they are awesome.

This card was created by Angela Chan, she has embossed Dasher, the reindeer image is on pg 208 and is called Dasher, is $10.95 and is a real hot seller.

This card was created by Pam Lee, Pam used the DSP from the Holiday Mini pg 21 Christmas Cocoa Specialty DSP and it is flocked, oh my, it is really beautiful in real life.

This was created by Sandi Linsay, I love how quick and easy the Delightful Decroations stamp set and the ornament punch pg 24 & 25 of the holiday mini, work together to make your project flow.

I think this was the Make and Take at the downline meeting, I also think Alison Solven designed it and stamped it for me, as I wasn't there, but joined in the swap, long distance (by snail mail). This is a quick easy WOW card.

Purses

I had to put together something to hold money for 2 great young girls. What could be better than a purse. So here is what I came up with. I am going to show you how I created them as well

Here is how I did them, I used the Big Shot, Top Note Die, and textured them after cutting them out. I used the large oval punch for the handles. For the inside of the purse I used a SU Med envelope and scored it 1 " on each of 3 sides , I also removed the flap with the glue on it, so the top is open, and then folded it as you would a bagalope.

This shows the scoring and folding make sure the creases are folded each way and the square at the bottom is also folded, this makes the next step so much easier.

Side view. I cut the bag after folding so it measured 2" then placed the Top Note pieces on to it using Sticky Tape

First one side and then match up the other side. Inside the purse I put alittle card with paper money attached as these young ladies where going to my daughters to visit, and their mother and my daughter never miss an opportunity to shop.

This is the little card with the money. These girls thought the purses where great, especially when they saw the money. Anyway I hope they had fun shopping. Thanks for stopping by today. Till next time have fun creating.

Swapping

 I love swapping and my upline Alison Solven's Group are great stampers. I will share 5 cards today these are all Fall, Halloween, etc, great cards and ideas Thanks to all who created, my next post I will share the rest, they are wonderful ideas for Christmas Cards.

Stamped by Alison Solven I love the way she used the Medallion Stamp Pg 133, this card opens and when you are looking at the inside you still see the Designer Paper and Real Red CS at the side.

This one is done by yours truely. I love this Build a Bear Stuff.

This was the Make and Take they did at the meeting. I live a 4hr drive from the meeting place, so couldn't go and Alison made the card for me, how nice is that. I love this stamp set, pg 94 Greenhouse Garden.

Created by Alison Solven, she used the Movers and Shapers die and Sweet Centers stamp set, which you can get for $14 with a $330 Workshop. This is a form of a Spinner card. Oh so cute.

 Happy Thanksgiving was done by Ann Tracy Mukai the center image the flowers are embossed, it is very effective, better in real life than in the scan, Pocket Silhouettes Pg 97 is the stamp set.

Brayer, Brayer, Oh Where is my Brayer

Can anyone relate. Well this is a start to MY Stampin' Year, and I had my first Stamper 10 Groups and classes this year. We used a Brayer and some had a hard time finding them. We haven't used them at class for along time but we are going to use them next month too, so don't put them away in a safe place, cause you need them next month. A Brayer is an interesting tool, it is frightening for some. All you have to do, is remember the ink has to go all around the rubber surface, and it has to come off on the paper in one swoop or it gets way darker at one end than the other.

Anyway we used somethings SU doesn't sell anymore, why I don't know, however I knew my Stampers had Spectrum pads, (because I sold them too them), and they where in the same area as the brayer!!! and so we used them. Of course people wanted to buy the pads, well Stampin' Up! it is time to rethink this!! Anyway the pad called Taffy and Blue Frost were my very favorites, so that is what we used, and here are the cards created.Everyone create 2 cards. If you see this and want to learn I will have the room set up till Friday so you can ph me for an appointment to learn.

Some people were stressed with the effect until it was finisned, and then everyone was happy with their creations. They got to make 2 designs and most made a Taffy and Blue card one of each. I know these aren't all SU images however one is a Kamloops Scene that I have had forever, and I love it, so I used it. I know you are going to ask where the canoe and gulls are and it isn't a SU one either, but I love it and so did everyone else. There are many SU stamps that would work with this, ie Lighthouse( disc), Farm Life, A Wish for Peace, Sceinic Season, just to name afew current ones. Anyway enjoy, and get out your brayer, it is a fun accessory.

 This uses House of Haunts, Branch Out, and Graveyard Gala and the Bat is from a disc. wheel. All SU products!!!

Ok Lovely as a Tree is still my all time favorite stamp set if you don't have it get it it is wonderful.

We used the white get oen to do some highlighting.

More Playing with My Digital Studio

Well I have been having fun Creating with this program. I love the fact I can share these pages by email. Anyway I created 2 12 x 12 pages the first took along tme but the 2nd one only took about 10 mins total and I gave myself a challenge actually Diane evans was here for the first one and she stated the challenge anyway here is the 2nd page that only took about 10 minutes. Pictures are from Convention 2009.

My Digital Studio

OMGosh, is this ever fun and exciting. Something so new. I had a friend and Customer, Loni, come over to play yesterday. She is a young woman with lots of computer knowledge and I am an older woman with very little computer knowledge but lots of desire, so we played together for a couple of hrs. I learned alot. Thanks Loni, and we created afew project. I will show you 2 of them. They are 6 x 6 cards and I can email or print them, however for now email is my choice, as I would still rather make my cards, however what is so wonderful here is I have afew designs that I can copy when I am making my cards. Oh this is way to much fun.

 

This next picture has a story, doesn't every picture tho', truely they have someones story. Anyway I am not a water person, it is me in the boat, and I don't do water, looks like I am along way from shore but I am not. All the beach was cheering and the little kids thought I was wonderful and I told them under no circumstances where they to stand up in the boat and they obeyed. Oh if you could have seen my rowing abilities it was a good laugh, I have never been able to figure out why when you row a boat your back faces the direction you are going, I have a hard time backing up a car, I just am a foward person, I guess. Anyway here is the 1st card created on MDS.

 This card only took about a minute to create with Loni's help of course. Anyway it is a fun learning curve. Until next time. Have a  Great Weekend, it is so wonderful and sunny in my part of the world.
