July Unity Reunion

Well I made it to Unity Saskatchewan for the 100 year reunion, no I am not 100 but the town is and what a party. I had so much fun and got to visut with so many friends, some I hadn't seen since high school. It was wonderful to see the town is a progressive community, there are so many wonderful memories there and it was great to relive them. Here are afew pictures of the events

P1020013 (2)  All the activities where here, well mostly

P1010927 (2) This is the members of our marching band from the late 50's early 60's. looks like every kid in town belonged it was so much fun.

P1020002 (2) Here I am with afew of my school buddies.

On to Business there is a weekly Special put on by Stampin' Up! this week it is the Doctor Bag for the Big Shot, scroll down this page until you see Deal of the Week, it changes every Monday. Actually you can see all the specials right here on the right side bar on this page, just keep scrolling, and click on the special and it will take you to more details about the special. There is a Special for signing up to be a demonstrator as well so check that out and if you want to sign up let me know by email or phone I check them frequently.

My daughter and grandchildren are here now and we are going to the lake. I hope it stops raining. At the end of the week they are going to Seattle to unpack their belongings, and start work, so I maybe helping out in this process. Think I am going to have a busy, wonderful summer, hope you all do as well. Cheers

Stencils

Oh WOW this is a whole new thing for me and I love it. You can stencil on anything and I just got the new Decro Element brouchure in the mail and we have some awesome stencils.

I want to share a recycling tip. This is what I am doing with my stencils. When they arrive from SU they are packaged with shrink plastic so I cut the top open, and then I have a sleeve that I can slide the stencil in and out of. I saw on someones blog, that  they marked This Side Up, and that is an awesome thing to do because, after you have used it once, you can't tell too well which is the clean side, then you need to use some kind of adhesive so all the litte pieces don't move on you. I have used Dotto and that works great, and so if I am doing a class, I don't want to have to put dotto on each time. I am saving the the shiny paper from the catalogue boxes to put the Dotto side of the stencil down, then it doesn't stick, and I can reuse it, or store it and reuse it for the next class. So now I am recylcing all the cardboard from my Designer Paper as well, after I have used it, because I cut the shrink plastic the same way, so I have a sleeve to keep the designer paper together, otherwise I wouldn't have a clue what is what, so now I can use that sleeve of DSP for the Stencils that have 2 steps, it works awesome. Here are some pictures so you know what the heck I am rambling on about.

P1010890 (2) here is the stencil as it is stored in the shrink wrap sleeve with the shiny catalogue paper, Dotto on the underside, and This Side Up written with a sharpie.

P1010888 (2) here it is out of the sleeve, on the shiny catalogue packaging sheet. this stencil comes with at least 6 stencils so this is where I used my recycled DSP sleeves.

Ok enough rambling. I have so much to do. My daughter and family are moving to Seattle yeah!! they are only going to be 6hrs away. I am so excited. I bought a travel trailer, and old one, for the lake so we have more room. So I have to get it ready for their arrival.

I am going to a reunion in Saskatchwen leaving the 1st of July it is a Homecoming and about 900 people are going, so you think we are going to have fun!!!

Well between now and June 30th I have to pack, make 2 swaps, 10 cards and 13 trading cards for Sunday, grocery shop, drive to the lake, get the trailer to the lake, someone named Bill has to get it there. Then I have to set it up and get it ready. On Tuesday June 30th I driv to Salmon Arm and then drive to Sask. OMG and I have to do most of it before Sunday when I go to the lake. So needless to say I am not going to be posting much for afew weeks, July 7th is my wedding anniversary and I hope to be at the lake because that is where my husband, my daughter and grandchildren will be, so I am just going to have a wonderful time with them until the 12th and then maybe go to Seattle to unpack when the furniture arrives from Florida.

Anyway have a great Summer. Gitterhugs

Continuing on with cards

P1010883 Here Karen used designer paper and Embrace Life stamp set to create a beautiful card. This is so elegant real life.

Lastly is my card is a pull out Flower Pot card.I used a New set that will be released in July in the new catalogue called Circle Circus. This is a fun set that works with all the circle punches we have. I also used the New In Colors, the base is Dusty Durango and the ribbon is Soft Suede. Just love them all. Don't know who gets to name these colors, it never ceases to amaze me the names they come up with.

P1010884  below is the pull out and the idea was shared by Linda Hellar, thanks Linda.

P1010885 Ok well that is it for the 7 cards we made. Have a great weekend.

More Cards

P1010879 This is a great card made by Kendra she used a new stamp set that will be available July 1st and the new In Colors, Crushed Curry, and Soft Suede, below is the card when it is opened. It is a great version of a trifold card. Kendra shared a tip in using the horizontal slot punch on the fold, to creat an opening for the ribbon, it works wonderfully, just put the punch 1/2 way on the fold and punch, voila you have a slot for your ribbon. Oh what wonders happen when Su demo's get togehter and share.

P1010880

P1010881 Barb created this cute card using All In the Family stamp set. We had fun, some used a Stampa ma jig and others didn't, mine was 1/2 and 1/2, you can see my dress is kind of in the girls mouth, oh well, that is the 1/2 I din't use the SAMJ. I love how we used the spiral punch, I don't use this enough.

P1010882 Audrey designed this card for us to make using Thoughts and Prayers set pg 58. I love this set, have it and haven't used it yet so was really happy to have such a beautiful sample to put with my set.

Well that is it for today. Got to run have lots to do again today. Hugs

Downline Meeting

We had our 1st, large downline meeting last nite and it was a shoebox swap. What fun and what wonderful cards and ideas we shared.

Here we area the Canadian Glitter Girls. We met in my hot workshop. When all the lights are on and 7 bodies present it gets abit warm and then we had some different large bugs wanting to join the party, so finally had to shut the door. Funny how different bugs want to come out at nite. Think these were what is called June bugs, they aren't the prettiest bugs I have seen. Anyway here we are.

P1010872 (2)

Awesome cards I just have 2 ready to share rest will come later.

P1010877 (2) This was made by Cindy and we learned a wonderful tip. Put the butterfly image on the cardstock, stamp then remove butterfly, turn CS over and restamp, then line the images up, no postioner needed, awesome tip, we also used craft ink as you get a better image. This card is so Cindy she loves chocolate chip, and she is also a musican.

P1010878 (2)  This is a WOW card, made by Diane, I tell you everyone went WOW as they made it. You use Shimmer White CS and spritz it heavily with H2O and then take your aqua pen dipped in reinker and as soon as you touch the pen to the image it is magic how the color spreads. You have to give the CS time to dry and then cut out the image. Every Rose was unique. Great idea, beautiful card.

Well that is it for today. Enjoy

Swap Cards

Last Sunday I was in a Swap, in Kamloops, we call ourselves the Ronnies Girls, only because we meet at the Golden Arch to do our Swapping. Anyway this is an awesome group of Kamloops Stampers. There are 2 groups one is a Trading Card Swap and the other is a Card Swap, both use techniques and/or themes.

This month the Trading Card was, any one stamp, so here are the trades.

P1010825

Downline or maybe I should say Upline Meeting

I went to Vancouver to my uplines, downline meeting,so know you know why I don't know what to call it. Anyway we had a blast. Karen came with me and it was her first experience at a downline meeting and we did a shoebox swap, so it was fun for us all. Here are some picutres and someday I will post the cards from the swap. They were awesome cards and we did 12 cards in about 21/2 hrs so it was mad stampin'. What is a Shoebox Swap well everything you need to make the card is in the shoebox and you make the card put everything back in the box and then go get another box and do the same thing 12 times. here we are having fun.

P1010822 here is Karen, the shoebox and Heather behind her.

P1010823

P1010824 See the table at the end, well we used bleach on one of the cards, it was great, but to avoid accidents, it was placed away from the other projects. As youcan see we did visit abit as we worked, however we all obeyed my rule, you can talk, laugh, have fun, as long as you can work on your project. See I do follow my own rules!!!

Enjoy the weekend.

Gardening

Now I am no expert on gardening. I don't know if any of you like weeding but I absolutely hate it, and the weeds grow so well, also the cutworms florish, and the crows and cats always get in the garden. Well I am sick of fighting them all, so here is my solution. Got to give Barb Deshima credit for the poly, they do this every year and I happened to be talking to her the day I was heading out to plant, so Gil her husband, let me know where the roll of poly was the best price and I went to town, my husband just shook his head, but then bless his heart he started making square pins out of coat hangers that I can poke in the ground to hold the poly down, as well as my bricks. This looks funny but once the garden grows it won't be so bad.

P1010772 (2) So I put cans around some of the plants, to stop the cutworms and they have already got 2 lettuce plants and 1 cucumber, however those didn't have the cans around them. I see one of my pins gave way and so my screening is coming off of my pea garden, but the chicken wire helps keep the crows and cats out. Then we can stake up the wire after the plants grow and the peas can climb up the wire. The grid that looks like a solar panel is for the cucumbers to grow up, we have done this for along time and it is wonderful, you can find the cuc's and they grow long and straight and don't go mouldy. We have already had afew feeds of Stewed Rubarb, I love it. The flower pots will soon have Marigolds in them, they are supposed to help fight the bugs.

P1010774 (2) Here is one of my flower gardens, rocks and pots, I love this type of gardening, and at the other end I have my little water garden, and Dave was able to get it up and running. I just love to sit out here and listen to the sound of water runnning there is something very soothing about it.

P1010773 (2) The damn crows think this is their watering hole too but the bird there, helps scare some of them off. Anyway that is my take on Gardening. Hopefully soon I can get back to Stampin'. Have a great weekend, the sky is blue here, so it will be a good one.

Till next time.

I am still Around

OMG it has been awhile.

As I said my husband broke his leg and still has the cast on so he can't do much and it is spring so when I am not stamping or doing classes, I am gardening, not my favorite job, but I like the flowers and produce the garden produces, so I dug the garden, it was good therapy for what I don't know I like the stampin' therapy better. Anyway I haven't had much time for the things I like in life lately and blogging is one I had to give up for awhile.

Tomorrow I will post garden pictures today here are the pictures from Las Vegas, we had fun I think it was wonderful that the young people had fun with us older ones, we all had a great time and in 3 yrs we are going to New York well alot can happen in 3 yrs but it was fun to say.

Here is the younger generation.

Vegas 008 (2)

Then we had instructions to all take a little Black Dress, well this was effective, as we went out, known as the Variety Pack, this is an inside joke, anyway we went for dinner at New York New York, and then to KA, at the MGM Grand, it was along way, so we took a limo, it was fun, as you can tell by everyones face, we all like this style and mode of transportation!!!

Vegas 019 (3)

Well that is it for today. Cheers
